Farmactive PU (polyurethane) Foam is an absorbent dressing made of hydro-cellular polyurethane, available in three versions: non-adhesive without border, adhesive, with border, and for cavity wounds. The non-adhesive dressing has a threelayer structure which facilitates the wound’s healing processes, thanks to an adequate management of the exudate, thus also reducing the risks of maceration of the wound itself and of the perilesional skin. Non-adhesive Farmactive PU Foam is composed of:

- an external layer in polyurethane film, impermeable to liquids, bacteria and viruses, breathable; it is thus able to create an impenetrable barrier that protects the lesion.

- an intermediate soft and absorbent layer of hydro-cellular polyurethane foam.

- a layer of non-adhesive perforated polyurethane that comes into contact with the wound. In the version with a border of adhesive Farmactive PU Foam, the three-layer structure of the absorbent foam stays the same, while the top cover polyurethane membrane is coated with a hypoallergenic acrylic adhesive, which allows the dressing to adhere directly to the perilesional skin, also keeping the central PU foam island stable; this dressing does not, therefore, need extra means of fixation.

Farmactive PU Foam for cavity wounds is a round absorbent dressing of hydro-cellular polyurethane foam, designed for the management of deep, cavity wounds. For this specific use, the dressing has a single layer structure, composed of just the hydrophilic foam, without any semi-permeable cover film
