FA RM A CTIVE A g A lginate with silver is a sterile antimicrobial dressing. It is available in swab and rope; it is composed of calcium alginate and contains high levels of mannuronic acid (M ), carboxymethylcellulose (CM C) and an ionic silver complex (Silver Carbonate) which releases silver ions when in contact with the lesion’s exudate. The dressing may be used for the management of infected wounds or wounds at high risk of infection; in addition, it promotes the creation of an ideal environment for the healing of exuding
